I am excited to announce my new veterinary house call service in the Boca Raton area.

BVHCS is dedicated to delivering high-quality veterinary care directly to your home.  By visiting you and your pet at home, I can  provide a more relaxed and personalized experience. I will spend the time necessary to fully understand your pet's previous medical history and current conditions. My approach to wellness care considers everything from your pet's lifestyle to yours. We will discuss all aspects of preventive care and collaborate on the appropriate care for your pet.

Dr. Glenn M. Zeitz has practiced Veterinary Medicine for 38 years.  He has owned and operated several hospitals in the New York City area before moving  to Boca Raton Florida.

Dr. Zeitz graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He is a past  member of the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, Westchester Veterinary Medical Society and is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Palm Beach Veterinary Society. He has served on the Board of the NYC association and their Ethics and Greivance Committee.

WELLNESS EXAMS
One key to maintain your pet's good health is yearly wellness exams. Some senior pets may require more frequent exams. All of this can be accomplished in your home. I will do an extensive examination of your pet and then sit down with you to discuss their condition. We can formulate a plan to  keep your beloved family member in good health.
VACCINATIONS

The basis of all preventive care are vaccinations. Our pets require some vaccines yearly and some less frequently. Again I will recomend which vaccines are necessary based on your pet's lifestyle. I do not give every pet every vaccine. Some people do not like giving any vaccines however some are very important to protect your pet against deadly disease and some such as the Rabies vaccine are required by law.

Advantages of a House Call Visit

-Less stress for your pet

Your pet will be more relaxed in its familiar  home environment.

A house call minimizes the stress of a car ride, this is especially important for many cats (and many dogs).

A house call also minimizes stress associated with sitting in a clinic waiting room with other dogs and cats.

Seeing your pet in his/her home environment may aassist making a diagnosis.  This is especially true for behavior related problems.

The home environment will facilitate a bonding experience with your pets.

-Convenience

A house call can be arranged to fit your schedule.

House calls save you time by eliminating the travel and waiting room time.

A house call is especially convenient for multiple pet households.

Situations may arise when it is difficult or impossible to get your pet to a veterinary clinic.

HOSPICE CARE

Hospice care in veterinary medicine is very different than in human medicine. This is a newer field of veterinary medicine that is ideal for a home care veterinarian. I can provide comfort for your elderly pet until it is their time to pass over the rainbow bridge. By being in your home and evaluating your pet's lifestyle I can formulate a multi pronged plan to allow your pet to enjoy it's senior years in style and comfort. My goal is to keep your pet a happy pet. I do not believe in prolonging the inevitable and allow a pet to suffer. Well before we get to that point with planning we can keep them happy and push discomfort well into the future.

SOME Of MY SERVICES

EUTHANASIA SERVICES

There comes a time in pet's lives when we can no longer care for them and they are suffering. A home visit is the most comfortable, caring, environment to perform humane euthanasia. I will create a caring, loving setting for you to say good-bye to your pet. I use sedatives to make them comfortable.

The emergency clinic or veterinary hospital is the best place for your pet's serious illnesses requiring major surgery and hospitalization. In my professional experience, the majority of pets can be seen for routine care in your home, often with better results. Most dogs and cats are less stressed and therefore I can evaluate them more accurately. Many pets do not do well in a hospital or clinic environment.

HEALTH ISSUES

I can examine and treat many health issues  as a house call visit. Most medical issues are routine and do not require advanced tests or hospitalization. I can perform basic tests and in fact recommend routine yearly blood tests for all pets over 3 years age (approximately equivalent to a 20 something year old person)

I have years of experience treating medical issues from the routine ear infection to more complicated issues such as diabetes. If needed I will discuss when it is time to refer your pet to a specialist for more  advanced care that would not be possible in your home. I am available by phone 24/7 for MY clients to answer questions about their pet.  I do not make house calls in the middle of the night but many issues can be discussed over the phone and can wait for the morning. If not then I will refer you to a local 24 hour emergency care facility. If I do not answer the phone and you believe you have a serious pet emergency then call the number  seen to the right.....>
